Q. When will they be available and how much are they?
A. CAMERA DUCK All Weather Covers are now available here where you can also find pricing.
Q. Why do I need an All Weather Cover?
A. Much of the time you may not but like a raincoat when you do you're glad you have one. The warming feature will protect your camera
in cold weather and the waterproof ripstop nylon feature will protect it from all the other harsh elements. We made the CAMERA DUCK All
Weather Covers tough but very light weight so it would slip into your case and hardly be noticed until you need it.
Q. What if my camera is a shape that the Standard Camera Warmer won't fit?
A. The Standard CAMERA DUCK All Weather Covers will fit most digital and film SLR's and even medium and large format film cameras. If
you require a custom Cover just contact us.
Q. How do I know if I need an optional Telephoto Sleeve?
A. The Standard CAMERA DUCK All Weather Cover is long enough for most standard lenses up to about 200mm (depending of course
on your particular camera/lens model). If you get up into the 300mm and above you will probably need a Sleeve. The Sleeve fits on the
front of the lens with an elastic cord the same as the regular CD but drapes over the Standard Cover loosely so that you can get to and
operate the zoom ring. It does not have warmer pockets at this time but we are looking into weather or not long lenses would benefit with
the warming option
Q. How hot does it get inside the Camera Warmer?
A. We are still testing all conditions but as an example we did a test in a controlled 15 degrees F environment. We activated 4 heat
packets and within about 10 minutes the interior of the Cover was at 60 degrees F. It stayed at that temperature for 9 hours then started
tapering slowly down to 40 degrees F during the next 15 hours. So for 24 hours the interior of the Cover stayed at an acceptable camera
temperature range. More testing and charts will be added to this website as we get them.
Q. What is the warranty?
A. Since there is not much that can go wrong or break we'll probably warranty the workmanship like sewing, material, cords, locks, etc for
a year but abuse will be judged on a case by case basis. Of course there will be a 30 day money back guarantee if not satisfied with the
as advertised performance provided the unit was not damaged. The user must pay any return shipping charges but because of it's
shipping size and weight that is not much.
Q. Where do I get more warmer packs and which ones do I need?
A. For warmers look here. Also the 24 hour Warmer Packs we use and recommend are made for us by the Heat Factory and they are the
Large 24 hour size. They can be purchased through International Supplies here.
In an emergency other heat packs may be found at most sporting goods stores but we cannot guarantee their performance in the
CAMERA DUCK All Weather Covers. We suggest if you are going on a trip you bring extras.
Keep checking back to the FAQ page as we will be adding as we go
